This year the LARTE Design studio has a unique opportunity to take a direct part in such a significant event in the world of motorsport and to sponsor its long-time friend and amazing person. Mr. Stoops has acquired the Quantum back in 1989.During two years he has invested his energy and a particle of the soul, as well as more than a thousand hours for the restoration and preparation of a racing car for competitive races. And in 1991 he first took part in the races on this machine, which marked the beginning of his sports career. Since that time, he has repeatedly participated in various arrivals of supercars in the United States.
The Quantum, which raced in the historic Formula Junior class was produced by the Quantum Corporation on the East coast of the United States in the state of Connecticut. It is the only car of its kind to have ever raced in the Monterey event. It is unusual compared to all of the other cars in its class. While the other Formula Junior cars are typically powered by conventional 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engines displacing 1100cc, his car uses a SAAB 3-cylinder, two-stroke engine which displaces only 940cc. The uniqueness of the Quantum engine is that it contains only 7 moving parts and it has been showing itself well for so many years. Despite the fact that Mr. Stoops’s bolide is less powerful than other cars, but its distinctive feature is the outstanding sound of the motor. The loud voice and charisma of this racing participant for a long time remains in memory of admirers of motor racing.
