Black Crystal gets famous YOKOHAMA Tuning Award

One of the three best 4×4 tuning vehicles
By introducing the Black Crystal, based on the Mercedes GL, LARTE Design caused a real sensation. Now, with the 350 BluTec engine, this full-size SUV also scored very well at the renowned YOKOHAMA Tuning Award. Winning 3rd place overall, the LARTE vehicle was the only tuned Mercedes in the top three. In 2015 the award was powered again by Europe`s biggest magazine for 4×4 vehicles, the German AUTO BILD ALLRAD. The prize was handed over at the Tuning World Bodensee, a well-attended car show in the south of Germany in early May.
The car is called Black Crystal irrespective of its paintwork because of the two dark crystals, inserted in the martial front bumper. As an option, the white Black Crystal even comes with additional Swarovski crystals, shaped like skulls. They are unique in the car tuning market. The LARTE-designed front bumper is of a brilliant “crystalline” ornamentation and aggressive geometry: prongs, edges, boomerang-shaped elements, exposed carbon inserts and a number of air inlets all together leave a very bold impression.
The tail, with its air inlets and the diffuser-look element in contrasting black, is also extremely sporty. But the highlight are the matt-black carbon-lined tailpipes, the “spearhead” of a Remus exhaust gas damper making a lot of noise. Visually corresponding carbon trims also adorn the adjacent ventilation outlets of the rear wheel wells. As on the front axle, 22’’ forged wheels are used here, with 305 tires. The wheels’ matt-black finish always provides an attractive contrast to the car’s white paintwork.
